community arts development

The Community Arts Development team aims to provide creative opportunities for people of all ages within the many communities of Newport and the surrounding areas through co-ordinating many different arts projects, events, activities and workshops. 

Big annual projects for the team include the International Women’s Day celebration events, co-ordinating family hub Splashtonbury during Big Splash festival and organising an indoor craft market during Art on the Hill. Visit our Festival & Events page to find out what the team are up to.

The team have forged and maintain partnerships with a number of stakeholders in Newport and the surrounding areas including organisations in the voluntary sector, community organisations and groups, schools and Newport City Council departments such as Youth Services, Social Services, YOT, and Community Development.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are a key and integral part of The Riverfront being able to provide and deliver great projects, workshops and activity both in the venue and out in the community, and we are always on the lookout for volunteers of all ages.
